I used to take that ride all the time. I miss it. though I wouldn't have entirely gone the way you went, that's a different story.
I think the city of Boston should do more publicizing to bike riders and students who ride bikes about the Southwest Corrider. You can get anywhere you need to go on that route, and avoid the most dangerous parts of the city for bike riders.
